Paying Your Union Gas Ltd. Bill

There are a few options for how to pay your Union Gas Ltd. gas bill:

Automatic Payment Plan

If you choose to pay by Union Gas's automatic payment plan, your payment will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account before the late payment deadline. You will still receive a monthly bill, but your payment will be done automaticallly. This option allows you to save time (by no longer having to go through the process of paying your bill yourself) and avoid late payment fees.

How to Sign Up for Union Gas's Automatic Payment Plan

In order to enroll in the Automatic Payment Plan, you will need to provide the following information about your bank account:

• The institution number
• The branch transit number
• Your account number

You can find these numbers at the bottom of your cheques. See our example below:

You have two options for signing up:

• Over the phone
  Call Union Gas's customer service line at 1-888-774-3111 (open from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
• Online
  You can sign up online for automatic payment through your Union Gas MyAccount. If this is the first time that you have registered for your MyAccount, you will also need to provide:

1. Your 14-digit Union Gas account number
2. Your phone number
3. Your email address

In most cases automatic payment will commence the month after you have signed up. You should continue paying your bill in the way that you have done before automatic payment until you receive a bill that states that the amount will be automatically withdrawn from your account. You can change your banking information or cancel the automatic payment plan by logging into your MyAccount and updating your payment information.

Online

You can pay online either through your Financial institution or by credit card using a third party payment service called Paymentus.

Paying Your Union Gas Bill Online Through Your Bank

To pay your bill online you must add Union Gas as a payee for bill payment. The steps you need to take for this are fairly simple:

1. Make sure that your financial institution is participating with Union Gas for bill payment. The following banks and credit unions are set up for Union Gas Bill Payment:
   • Bank of Montreal (BMO)
   • CIBC
   • Desjardins
   • HSBC
   • Laurentian Bank
   • Mainstreet Credit Union
   • National Bank
   • President's Choice Financial
   • Royal Bank (RBC)
   • Scotiabank
   • Tangerine
   • TD Canada Trust
   • Your Neighbourhood Credit Union
2. Log on to your online bank account, and go to the "Bill Payments" section. Create Union Gas as new payee (you will need your 14-digit Union Gas number with you in order to do this).
3. Set up your bank as your preferred financial institution in your Union Gas MyAccount and you will be linked to your bank's website when you check your bill online.

You should allow one to three business days for your payment to be processed and to reach Union Gas.

Don't forget to update your account information if you move to a new address and create a new Union Gas account number

Paying by Credit Card with Paymentus

Paying by credit card may be useful if it is nearing the late payment date, as credit card payments are processed immediately and the payment posted to your account the next day. Union Gas Ltd. uses a third-party payment service provider. Paymentus accepts VISA and MasterCard. You can pay online by credit card by going to the Paymentus website. You will need to provide your 14-digit Union Gas account number in order to pay online, as well as your credit card number and expiry date.

You have the options of paying by credit card as a one-off, or by setting up an account with Paymentus to pay monthly by credit card. If you use a pre-paid credit card, you should check with your credit card company first to see if you can use your credit card for payment with Paymentus, as some pre-paid credit cards do not allow service charges.

Paying Your Union Gas Bill In Person

You can pay your bill in person at your local bank branch. Make sure to bring your bill with you when you pay, so that you can make sure that the correct account number and bill amount are registered. Paying at your bank will take between two to seven business days to be processed and received by Union Gas. Your bank may charge a service fee for this transaction.

You cannot pay your Union Gas Bill in person at any of the Union Gas Ltd. district offices.

You should allow three to seven business days for the payment to reach Union Gas. Make sure to mail your payment with your bill stub.
