It is a business unit of Direct Energy Ltd., one of the largest energy services companies in North America. Direct Energy is owned by Centrica Plc., a major energy company based out of the UK.

History of Direct Energy Regulated Services

Direct Energy Regulated Services has existed since 2004, when Direct Energy bought the retail customer base for ATCO (both gas and electricity).
