Direct Energy Dual Fuel Plans
Signing up for a dual fuel plan with Direct Energy allows you to save money on the administration fee, and means that you receive your energy charges on the same bill. Direct Energy offers the most "extras" (aeroplan miles, free thermostat) with its dual fuel plans.

Our Take on Direct Energy's Plans
Direct Energy's fixed energy prices are among the higher for the four larger competitive energy suppliers (ENMAX, Just Energy, Encor by EPCOR), as are its administration costs for single fuel. If you are interested in purchasing energy from Direct Energy we recommend their five year Comfort & Control dual fuel option, which offers a fixed electricity price that is the same as what ENMAX and Encor offer for electricity, but with a lower administration charge and more benefits (free thermostat, Aeroplan miles). Note that Direct Energy's floating gas rate includes a transaction fee that is higher than that charged by ENMAX or Encor, but it includes a winter price cap of $5.99/GJ.
