If you are moving to an area in Ontario that is within Enbridge Gas Distribution's service area, you will need to provide notice at least three business days before the date of your move. Enbridge does not process move requests retroactively, and will process any late applications on the date they were received.

Moving Into the Enbridge Service Area (with service already in place)

If you already have an account with Enbridge then you can submit a Move form online through your MyEnbridge account.

If you are a new customer of Enbridge, you will need to open an account. You can do this online by filling in a New Account Form found on the Enbridge Gas Distribution website. You will need to provide the following information to open up a new account:

  • Your new address
  • Your date of birth
  • Your driver's licence number
  • The legal closing date (if you are buying) or the first day of your rental agreement (if you are renting)

It is a good idea to give more than three business days' notice if you are opening up an account with Enbridge for the first time.

Enbridge New Account Activation Fee

All new Enbridge customers are required to pay a one-time account activation fee of $25. This charge is intended to cover some of the costs associated with setting up your account. Find out more about the charges on your Enbridge bill.

Enbridge Security Deposit

Enbridge typically requires a security deposit of $250 from new customers. This is returned to the customer after one year's worth of good payment history. However, in some cases the security deposit can be waived for new customers. Find out more about the Enbridge security deposit.

Starting New Gas Service with Enbridge

If your new property does not already have gas service installed, you will need to contact Enbridge's Sales Enquiry Centre at 1-888-427-8888 (or by email at [email protected]). This process can take some time, so it is a good idea to get in touch with them as soon as possible if you would like to have gas service installed.
