AltaGas appears to provide a solid service at reasonable prices. However, certain aspects of customer service (customer service hours, payment options) are somewhat limited compared to its competitors.

No AltaGas customers have posted online commentary of their experience with AltaGas. As most people tend to write reviews when they have something negative to express, and as AltaGas has no history of complaints lodged with consumer advocacy groups such as the Better Business Bureau we can assume that on the whole, customers are satisfied with AltaGas.

AltaGas Employee Reviews

AltaGas employee reviews are mixed, but on the whole are slightly more positive. Most positive reviews note that as it is rapidly developing it is a good place to learn and grow, but negative reviews note concerns with recent changes in management style, and average compensation for the workload.

AltaGas's rates are regulated by the Alberta Utilities Commission, and its monthly administration fees are the lowest amongst its competitors. Overall, we think that AltaGas offers good prices for gas service within its territory. However, AltaGas offers slightly fewer payment options than other gas supply companies (the company is not set up for epost or paying by credit card, for example). AltaGas also charges a one-time account activation fee, which other gas supply companies do not do. Interested customers should also keep in mind that as a regulated rate provider, AltaGas does not provide service outside of its territory.
