Paying Your ENMAX Bill

You have a variety of options for paying your ENMAX bill. In most cases you should allow two to three days for your bill payment to reach ENMAX and be processed, though this varies depending on your payment method: you should allow more time if you mail your payment to ENMAX, but don't need to worry about missing the late payment deadline if you sign up for pre-authorized payment. Find out more details about paying your bill here.

Pre-Authorized Payment

With the pre-authorized payment option, the amount on your bill is automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the night of the due date. This means that you don't pay late fees, and saves you the time of paying your bill, though you must ensure that you have enough money in your account to pay the bill amount, or else you may risk facing insufficient funds charges. You can sign up for pre-authorized payment through your online ENMAX account. You will continue to receive monthly bills from ENMAX even while on pre-authorized payment.

Online

If you would like to pay your ENMAX bill online, you have two options: using Canada Post's epost service, or paying your bill online through your bank.

epost

If you sign up for Canada Post's epost service you can receive, store (for up to seven years), and pay your bill in the same spot.

Pay Online With Your Bank

To pay your bill online through your bank you will need to set up ENMAX as a payee in your personal online banking account. You will need your 14-digit account number in order to ensure that your payment goes to the right place. You should allow two to five days for your payment to be processed.

Over the Phone

You can pay over the phone if your bank offers a Bank Telephone Payment Service. Make sure to have your ENMAX bill with you the first time that you pay your ENMAX bill, as you will need to provide your 14-digit ENMAX account number in order to register ENMAX as a payee. You may need to enter your account number, or a portion of it, each subsequent time that you make a bill payment.

By Mail

You can also mail your ENMAX bill payment (cheque or money order). Your payment should be addressed to "ENMAX", and you should send it to:
ENMAX Bill Payment
P.O. Box 2900, Station M
Calgary, AB, T2P 3A7

Don't forget to mail the stub at the bottom of your bill with your cheque or money order. You should allow 7 to 10 days for your payment to arrive to ENMAX.

In Person

You have a few options for payment in person:

At ENMAX Offices

You can pay by cash, cheque, or debit card at the following ENMAX office locations during regular office hours:

ENMAX Calgary
800 Macleod Trail SE
ENMAX Red Deer
100-4808 Ross Street

At Your Local Bank Branch

You can pay your bill in person at your local bank branch. You will need to bring your bill with you when you register ENMAX as a payee, but you should not need to present your bill every time you go to your bank to pay. After you have registered ENMAX as a payee you may use an ATM (see below) or pay through telephone banking

At an ATM

You must have already registered ENMAX as a payee to pay bills at an ATM, which you can do online, through telephone banking, or at your local branch. To pay your bill using an ATM you will need your 14-digit ENMAX account number, as well as the amount you would like to pay.

Note that ENMAX does not accept credit card payment at this time.
